The Greenhill geese seem to be dividing their time between the Greenhill and the greenfield beside the allotments. They can still spot a plastic bag containing food from 200 yards as this photo shows of them clambering down the coppice to get to the canal.
Along that part of the canal I spotted a small flock of very chirpy birds near the bramble field. I didn't know what they were and I didn't get a very good photo as they were too far away but after much humming and hawing with my expert Geoff we have decided they are young female chaffinch.
