It's raining, it's pouring...

On a very rainy day, no photos.  But I still managed a walk down to the canal to see what was going on.  I am hooked on the moorhens!  Even in the belting rain they were out and about: 2 adults, 2 juveniles and I think... 6 chicks.  One of the juveniles is helping feed but the other still thinks it should be fed.  Photo from yesterday...

The geese seem to have taken over the high field where there is lots of fresh grass and they are all grouping together again now the breeding season has gone.
The only other thing in evidence was a visiting male mute swan, minus his minus and cygnet.  I hope they had more sense and were sheltering from the weather.
